Professional Background (Back To Top)
A native of North Dakota, Tim first came to Colorado Springs as a member of the United States Army, serving a tour of duty at Fort Carson, Colorado.
While stationed at Fort Carson, Mr. Leigh met and married Lise. They have been married for over 20 years and have two beautiful daughters, Shannon and Holly.
The Leigh’s moved back to Colorado Springs in 1982 and prior to returning to the real estate profession, Tim was appointed District Manager for the Lutheran Brotherhood Life Insurance Company in Colorado Springs. Additionally, he acted as the Producing and Managing General Agent for the ITT Life Insurance Corporation. In both situations, Tim supervised several sales agents and the respective sales organizations set many company production records.
Tim has been active in all phases of the real estate business since 1978, when he first received his license after graduating from the Jones College of Real Estate.
Tim began working with Bob Hoff as commercial property leasing agents in a small office on South Tejon Street in 1983. Employed by Jenkins & Martin Management Company, the early days found the partners sharing a desk, a phone and a car. It should be noted that the car was owned by Hoff and that the passenger side window never worked. Tim was heard to be always wet, cold or both! The partners were very successful in their business. In most months, they would complete at least one commercial transaction every day! This prosperity led to the need for the growth and change which occurred in 1985.
While Bob was enjoying a summer-long vacation to Kodiak Island, Alaska, Tim was planning their new company start up. Leigh designed new signs, logos, advertising slicks and a comprehensive marketing plan which were to be implemented while Bob was out of town. Buck Blessing inadvertently discovered Mr. Leigh’s work and after prolonged negotiations, they entered into an agreement where Griffis/Blessing, Inc hired Hoff & Leigh. When Bob returned from his vacation, he went to a new office near Colorado College and joined the new affiliation with Griffis/Blessing To this day, Griffis/Blessing enjoys the use of the blue & green signs originally designed for Hoff & Leigh!
In 1987, Griffis/Blessing’s decision to exit the commercial leasing and sales business put Hoff & Leigh back in the start up process where they had to design new signs, logos, advertising slicks and create a new marketing plan. It was at that time that the big Red & White signs which dominate our market were first introduced. Hoff & Leigh has been in continuous operation since 1987 and is now the 2nd oldest, continuously operating commercial real estate company in Colorado Springs.
Their idea was that they could focus on becoming experts at property leasing in two small target markets, the offices surrounding the north end of downtown and office/warehouses on the south end of Colorado Springs. Their plans were to niche market and create a nice, small business. Their plan was to become connected to their customer by focusing on the customer’s need for proactive marketing and superior communication.
Their success led to expansion, market share marketing and the creation of a full service real estate brokerage. According to the Colorado Springs Business Journal, Hoff & Leigh is now the largest commercial real estate brokerage in Colorado Springs. Hoff & Leigh now employs 15 professional real estate brokers who produce an excess of $74,000,000 in annual sales and employs a full time office manager, controller and property manager.
Tim is currently the Vice President of Hoff & Leigh, Inc. and President of its sister company, Hoff & Leigh Management, Inc.
Community Involvement (Back To Top)
Tim has been active in many community projects including serving on various community service boards, from swim clubs to indigent and homeless support organizations. He is an advisory board member for The Salvation Army and a member of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce.
He has been active with the Holmes Middle School Parent's Advisory Council, is President of Holme's PTSA, President of the Coronado High School Alumni Association and a member of the School District 11 Athletic Advisory Council.
He has also been very involved with youth organizations, leading annual white water rafting expeditions and coaching high school athletics.
Personal Interests
The Leigh's attend the Catholic and Episcopal Church; enjoy family activities which include, skiing, tennis, running and competitive swimming. They have recently begun an odyssey of climbing many of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks and enjoy vacations to sunny locations.
Significant Accomplishments (Back To Top)
In his first year as Head Hockey Coach for Coronado High School, he was selected Colorado High School Hockey Coach of the Year.
Upon completing a three year tour of duty stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, the Secretary of the Army awarded him the prestigious Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
In conjunction with his partner, Tim has been involved in writing more commercial real estate transactions every year than any other commercial real estate agent in Colorado Springs! In 1998, their combined production exceeded 200 completed transactions and over $15,000,000.00 in sales volume.

Personal Statement (Back To Top)
I would like to share with you my business philosophy. The first demand of any business is to discover a replicable success pattern before time runs out. When the cash flow runs out, time runs out. In that sense, all small businesses are in a race. They are running against time and money. That is how we operate at Hoff & Leigh. We are constantly running the race. The challenge has been to discover our success pattern while running and now that we have, corporately, our challenge is to help each of our agents discover their personal success pattern before they reach the finish line.
At Hoff & Leigh, we developed a replicable success pattern for leasing and selling commercial real estate. Our pattern is our process. Our process allows us to serve our niche market. Our niche is the lower 80% of the Colorado Springs commercial real estate market. These are the small businesses and building owners who are commonly referred to as "Mom & Pop." They are the bread and butter of the American economy. We choose to work in this market because Mom & Pop are able to make decisions for more quickly than the decision maker in corporate America. We have discovered that quick decisions help us shorten the sale cycle, which helps us pursue our goal of maximizing our replicable pattern.
Hoff & Leigh's replicable pattern involves a program we developed called IMPACT Marketing. Our pattern is our process. Our process allows us to consistently perform those certain functions which need to be performed to successfully lease or sell commercial real estate. Our process involves print media advertising, web-based, internet marketing, telemarketing and many other specialized functions and processes that allow us to solve our client's and customer's problems in the shortest time possible, all with exceptional transaction documents.
I recognize that the challenges today and in the foreseeable future are monumental. And while we are self confident, we are not complacent. We like to run awake. We like to keep all adrenals pumping!
Running awake means staying very close to our customers and our market. It is not a new way of selling, but a renewed way of selling. Running awake means that we constantly search for innovative solutions to our customers problems; we remain highly adaptable to any situation; we are willing to take risks and are quality oriented and focused.
It is our belief that no one is immune from the natural selection process of the marketplace. Recognizing this reality, we have inculcated these philosophies into our corporate structure, and as a result, we focus on nurturing long term, mutually beneficial relationships with our customers and clients. We are determined to provide superior solutions, trusting relationships, and value added service.
